Grant awarded to Ms. Chrstian

Ken Lass from channel 42 news came to Jonesboro today and presented a check to Ms. Jaquitta Christian, a 4th grade teacher.  She applied for a grant through channel 42 and received $1000 today.  When Mr. Lass arrived she was stunned.  Here children jumped for joy when they found out she had won a grant for their classroom.  They began to congratulate her and she quickly told them that they had won.  It was for them.  She told Mr. Lass that her principal, Mr. Daryl Aikerson, had given her a "white board", top of the line in technology for the classroom, and she hated to ask him for anything else, so she just wrote a grant for little extras.  The people from 42 news stayed on to video clips of her class and teaching.  It was a great day for Ms. Christian and our school.  Pictured are Ken Lass, Ms. Jaquitta Christian, and Mr. Daryl Aikerson, the principal.
